The development of the Petrochemical Industry in the World Emerging Economies
The petrochemical industry is going through profound changes and shifting the industrial growth focus from the United States and Europe to the emerging economies, mainly China, India, Middle East and Brazil.
In the case of China and India, high growing GNP rates in the last years are pushing an industrial boom and in the case of the Middle East, political decisions of the rich hydrocarbons nations to integrate downstream their large gas and oil reserves, connected with and aggressive export drive is changing the world petrochemical map.
In the Latinoamerica area, although there are counties with important hydrocarbon’s reserves, like Venezuela and Mexico, only Brazil is showing a clear will to invest and develop the petrochemical sector.
The international financial crisis which the world is going through could undoubtedly impact actual on going investments, but the long term trend will probably continue in the same direction.
This described change is generating new important players with global impact, adding new complexities to the petrochemical world. New companies’ names are being born and traditional industry leaders which were dominant in the last 50 years are being challenged and transformed.
Taking into account these major changes we will have a round table presentation and discussion of what's happening in Asia (China, India and others), Middle East and Brazil. We expect a deep analysis of their respective realities and their economic and political impacts.
