Reg Friesen Student Oral Paper Award

Sponsored by the Chemical Education Division of the Chemical Institute of Canada

The competition is intended to encourage students to present papers of general interest concerning the following: critical evaluation of their educational experiences; innovative learning/teaching strategies and materials; other topics that address chemistry or chemical engineering education.

Eligibility

This competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students presenting an oral paper at the Student Program sessions of the national CSChE conference.

Award

  • First prize: $350 and a certificate
  • Second prize: $150 and a certificate

Prizes will be announced at the Undergraduate Student Banquet.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts should include the title, presenters name(s) and a brief summary (100 to 200 words) of your talk.

Format

The presentations will be 15 minutes in length including a question period. LCDs, slide projectors and transparency machines will be available.

Deadline July 25, 2009

Judging

A panel of 3 judges consists of representatives chosen from industry, government and academia.
