Air Pollution

Air pollution results from atmospheric releases of contaminants that can affect the health of humans, animals, vegetation, and the quality of water spreads, soils and high altitude atmospheric conditions. Depending on their chemical composition, they fall into four main categories: criteria air contaminants, persistent organic pollutants, heavy metals and toxics. They react with other chemicals, are persistent and/or have the ability to travel long distances in the atmosphere. These air contaminants are emitted from any sources releasing substances in the air, whether they are large industrial sources, commercial, mobile, residential or even natural.

This symposium highlights the challenges of reducing all air pollutant emissions at once and the challenges industries face in implementing new technologies for reduction of air contaminant releases.

Scope

This topical conference will aim at enhancing discussions on the prioritization of air pollutant issues and control and on the challenges industries face in economically reducing their air contaminant emissions.
