Biomaterials, Tissue engineering and Regenerative medecine

This symposium addresses all aspects of biomaterials, cells, and other therapeutics for applications in regenerative medicine and drug delivery. Topics to be dealt with include the design, production, characterisation and evaluation in vitro and in vivo of biomaterials, polymers, cells, other therapeutics and combination systems. Applications include wound healing, tissue regeneration, and delivery of cells, drugs and genes. Example target medical areas are nerve regeneration, orthopaedic tissue repair, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

Scope

This topical conference is dedicated to a comprehensive treatment of materials and biologics for regenerative medicine.

The proposed topics are :

  • Biomaterials as related to the creation, production and application of materials that are used to improve or enhance human health.
  • Therapeutic Delivery of biomolecules, cells, engineered organs, or artificial devices into the human body.
  • Cellular/Regenerative Therapy for the restoration of function through tissue regeneration or replacement, including strategies to stimulate endogenous cells.
  • Tissue Engineering of functional devices/organs by combining cells with biomaterials/scaffolds and/or biofactors.
  • Stem Cell Bioprocessing in mammalian stem cell isolation, expansion, and characterization.

Publication

This symposium will be included in the WCCE8 proceedings.
