Bioproducts, Bioreactors and Bioprocesses

This symposium reflects the natural synergy between the development of novel bioproducts, bioreactor systems and bioprocesses needed to commercialize new discoveries in biotechnology for the economic benefit, health and welfare of our changing world.

This symposium is part of the overall theme “ Challenges for a Changing World ” of the 8th World Congress of Chemical Engineering and covers a wide spectrum of bioproducts, bioreactor and bioprocesses.

Scope

This symposium covers a wide range of commercially important bioproducts that have the same common characteristics, namely, they are derived from renewable raw materials employing green bioprocesses which are sustainable and environmentally friendly. This symposium has the following proposed topics :

Biopolymers for biomedical applications

Nanoparticles for controlled drug delivery

Microbioreactors in biochemical engineering

Biosensors and biomarkers

Biopharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals

Bioinsecticides and biopesticides production by microorganisms

Application of metabolic and synthetic biology to biochemical engineering

Lignocellulosic bioconversion to bioproducts

Extraction and purification of bioproducts

Biofuels from renewable raw materials

  • Liquid Biofuels
  • Gaseous Biofuels

Biofuel Cells and applications

Photobioreactors for algae and bio-oil production

New developments in immobilized enzymes and cell bioreactors

Novel bioproducts from renewable resources

Bioprocess design and economic analysis

Publication

This symposium will be included in the WCCE8 Proceedings.
