7th International Symposium on Catalysis in Multiphase Reactors (Camure-7) & 6th International Symposium on Multifunctional Reactors (ISMR-6)
At the Crossroads of Cleaner & More Sustainable Products & Energy
The third edition of the joint international symposia on Catalysis in Multiphase Reactors (CAMURE-7) and on Multifunctional Reactors (ISMR-6) builds on the success of their two previous siblings. It will be held under the umbrella of the 8th World Congress of Chemical Engineering in Montréal (Canada) on August 23-26, 2009. This three-day event will gather researchers from all over the world and will provide a platform of stimulating exchanges on the recent developments in the areas of multiphase catalytic reactors and multifunctional processes. The tinge of the conference will be strongly leaning towards today’s preoccupations on perennation of emerging energy pathways, sustainable products and reduction of deleterious footprint on the environment, thus the theme will be At the Crossroads of Cleaner & More Sustainable Products & Energy.
Scope
This topical symposium is dedicated to all aspects of catalytic multiphase and/or multifunctional reaction engineering, focussing (but not being limited to) on the following most relevant topics.
Catalysis & Reaction Engineering for Sustainable Energy Systems
- Biomass Conversion and Co-Product Optimization
- Conversion and Utilization of Fossil Fuels, Oil Sands & Heavy Oil
- Fuel Cells & Energy Storage
- New Concepts for Other Renewable Energy Sources
Catalysis & Reaction Engineering for Environmental and Materials Processing
- (Multi)functional Materials & Devices
- Microfluidics & Microstructured Devices
- Accelerated CO2 Capture & Storage
- Novel (Bio)productss
Fundamentals
- Multiphase Reactors
- Process Intensification
- Alternative Solvents
- Multiscale & Multi-physicochemical Modeling & Simulation
- Functional Imaging & Surface Characterization
Publication
As a minimum requirement for acceptance in WCCE8, the delegates must submit 3-6 page manuscripts which will be peer reviewed by the CAMURE-7/ISMR-6 international scientific committee before inclusion in the proceedings of the conference. Those who will fulfill the criteria of the highest-quality contributions will be invited by the organizers to submit a full paper. Selected articles will appear as a Special Issue of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research in January 2010 according to the journal’s selection criteria. It will not be the intent of the organizers to publish short papers or brief reports, and only papers that report on a substantial body of information will be considered for the special issue.
