Water Production and Wastewater Treatment – Technologies, Advances, and Issues
Access to clean water is considered to be one of fundamentals of right individuals by the United Nations and its part of its Millennium Goals. Water scarcity and stringent environmental regulations have mandated treatment of saline, polluted, marginal waters for use and reuse within various (industrial, agricultural and municipal) sectors. Availability and production of water is directly in many cases is directly linked to the availability and amount of energy required for its treatment. Various technologies have emerged or are emerging. This symposium is dedicated to these issues and some of the advancements and challenges in securing this precious resource for human, industrial and agricultural consumption.

Scope
This topical conference is dedicated to the advancements and challenges in securing water for human, industrial and agricultural consumption.
Publication
This symposium will be included in the WCCE8 proceedings. However, we encourage the submission of the full articles and for publication as fully reviewed papers will be published in conjunction with European Desalination Society – by Balaban Publishers, L’Aquila – Italy.
